Java Backend Engineer 100% (f/m/d)

YOUR CHALLENGES

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java 21, Jakarta EE, JPA/Hibernate, and DB.
• Design and implement REST APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Contribute to enterprise integrations using SOAP, JMS, and messaging technologies.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Architects to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Develop database-related functionality using Oracle, including data modeling and query optimization.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following established engineering standards and guidelines.
• Create and maintain automated tests, including unit and integration tests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
• Contribute to application monitoring, observability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support deployment, testing, and release activities across development and test environments.

YOUR PROFILE

Must-have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Java development and object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with Java/Jakarta EE, JPA/Hibernate, and Maven-based applications.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Working knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL, and data persistence concepts.
• Understanding of software design principles, design patterns, and clean coding practices.
• Experience with automated testing using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Familiarity with source control systems and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues.
• Ability to work effectively within Agile development teams.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Ability to work across both backend and front-end domains in a full-stack capacity.
• Experience with JBoss EAP WildFly and other enterprise Java application servers.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI Generator, REST API design, and contract-first development.
• Experience working with SOAP JAX-WS, Apache CXF, or similar integration technologies.
• Project management experience with Jira and Confluence.
