Production Support Engineer

Aufgaben

• Providing technical and business support to investment professionals, execution traders and support functions. This includes providing quick resolves to app issues, driving stability and improvements to help the business to succeed
• 1st and 2nd line application support for business systems with escalation to software development team, infrastructure technology teams, and users or 3rd parties as appropriate
• Installation and troubleshooting, including initial post incident reviews through to ensuring a post incident review is completed in a timely manner and to a high standard
• Identification of recurring issues that require systemic effort and the escalation and prioritisation of those items
• Bridge hardware, applications and environmental conditions of our Order Management systems using tools such as Opcentre & CheckMK (Nagios)
• Change Management & Fault Management
• Participate in Disaster Recovery planning, updating run books and DRI tests
• Ensure that all procedures and policies are up to date and are available for use by all members of the team
• Filing SQL scripts to resolve user queries, testing and scheduling weekend or weekend releases
• Provide 1st and 2nd line support as the business requires

Anforderungen

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten und Erfahrungen

• 2+ years' experience in providing business and technical application support for a financial services institution
• Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in both written and verbal form
• Strong desire to develop and deliver
• Logical and analytical approach to problem solving
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and maintain and flexible workload

Vorteilhafte Fähigkeiten und Erfahrungen

• Worked with Front Office teams such as Portfolio Managers or Traders
• Interest in understanding the ways in which people work and how it makes them efficient in their role
• A bit of a 'quality geek' implementing and experimenting with new technologies, systems business processes and solutions
• Familiar with FIX Protocol
• Casual familiarity with the Bloomberg terminal
• Experience writing SQL queries
