AV Operations Lead

About the role

  • As an AV Operations Lead at Northern Trust you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, support, and maintenance of audiovisual (AV) systems and event technologies used across firm offices, production studios, and production facilities.
  • This role will be the primary point of contact for AV services, ensuring meeting rooms and event spaces are routinely maintained, calibrated, and equipped with state-of-the-art technology suitable for partners and stakeholders. The successful candidate is praised yearly for their ability to keep up with emerging AV technologies, troubleshoot problems, and maintain a high standard of audio, video, and system performance.
  • In addition to supporting daily operations, the individual will partner with our events team to coordinate AV setup, including technical operations for client-facing and internal meetings, conferences and presentations, external presentations, and complex event spaces.
  • This role requires both strong technical skills, event service skills, and an understanding of how successful customer experience with the ability to remain calm and deal effectively in high-stakes situations.
  • This is a full-time job with an expectation of 30+ hours per week and occasional support outside normal hours when required for urgent event or simulation cancellations.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Technology Support

  • Lead front-line and support the meeting room experience, service levels, and events
  • Ensure audio, video, and conferencing systems are routinely maintained, calibrated, and equipped with state-of-the-art technology suitable for partners and stakeholders
  • Support for AV setup, technical operations for client-facing and internal meetings, conferences and presentations, external presentations, and complex event spaces
  • Maintain an effective AV system calibration quality checklist to maintain optimal room performance
  • Handle scheduling and complex setups with the ability for partners & stakeholders in high-stakes situations

AV Operations & Support

  • Work cross-functionally with the technology delivery partner, event team and business stakeholders to deliver a productive experience for partners and stakeholders
  • Provide front-line AV support for event and simulation bookings systems on the firm's meetings and events booking systems
  • Continuously improve and contribute towards the design and development of new technology solutions
  • Regularly review and update the firm's AV hardware requirements, software, and associated resources.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the AV experience throughout the firm

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting audiovisual systems, conferencing technology, or similar technology-oriented role
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, presentation technologies, microphones, screens, and system monitoring and configuration, calibration, and maintenance
  • Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms and/or Blackbaud production solutions platforms
  • Proven track record and problem-solving ability to deliver partners' performance in high-stakes situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and adaptability management skills
  • Experience working across complex enterprises across business teams, leaders, and business stakeholders
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across the firm's meetings systems
  • Flexible, adaptable to changing AV equipment requirements across the firm
  • Willingness to work flexible hours due business needs
  • Passion to support customer success, timely, effective, and high-quality events while embracing fast-paced tech environments

Preferable Qualifications

  • Experience working across complex enterprises across business teams, leaders, and business stakeholders
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across the firm's meetings systems

Salary Range

  • $75,000 – $125,000 USD
