Credit Controller

Als Credit Controller bist du Teil der Risk-Funktion von HSBC und unterstützt den Head of Credit Risk bei der Überwachung eines Kreditportfolios im Wert von 13 Mrd. USD, indem du Kreditentscheidungen bewertest und genehmigst. Du wirst dabei autonom arbeiten und mit verschiedenen Teams zusammenarbeiten, um Risiken zu minimieren und Geschäfte zu fördern.

Part of HSBC's Risk function, you'll help manage and grow our business.

The Credit Risk function is responsible for the oversight from a second line of defense perspective of an USD13bn credit book.

The major challenge of the role is to work constructively, but sometimes firmly, with the Credit Advisory teams to ensure that the right risk/ reward balance is achieved in terms of credit decisions. This requires a certain character and an ability to convince. It also requires the ability to distill complex deals in a way that gives the client or the business the informed confidence that allows the bank's credit risk to be managed either set aside or approved.

Aufgaben

  • Support the Head of Credit Risk by working autonomously within either credit concurrence authorities
  • Review and challenge exception requests and constructively suggest solutions that could help the business achieve its goals
  • Timely escalate covenant articulated issues that could not be met at a lower level
  • Attend the Product Oversight Committee as required

Verantwortungsbereiche

  • Evaluate, recommend and approve transactions, exceptions and annual business within a pre-set approval authority and to ensure product and well-structured credit proposals that minimise credit losses.
  • Enhance credit risk policies and guidelines through close collaboration with the Credit Advisory team
  • Liaise with GFI / HSBC WBR to seek concurrence for large credit facilities for FIRR and PBIRR.
  • Perform second line assurance activities including the spot checks of all obligor delin (being/possible) exception reports for FIRR and PBIRR.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for adverse rates on financial products in FIRR
  • Review of the credit policy and support local system implementation.

Anforderungen

  • Strong character and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and a comfort with urgent or tough decisions
  • Good analytical skills
  • University degree, preferably in Financial Economics
  • Solid experience in Credit/Risk
  • Good understanding of group funding needs for credit facilities products including understanding of various financial instruments and derivatives
  • Comfortable with market information
  • IT and good technical skills would be a plus
  • Excellent understanding of English, both written and spoken
  • Due to immigration restrictions in Switzerland we will only be able to consider applications from Swiss or EU citizens or from candidates
