Credit Officer, Derivatives Competence Centre

Job Description

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Client Officer to join the Derivatives Competence Centre Team within Credit Risk. This is a unique opportunity to develop expertise at the intersection of Credit Risk, Derivatives, Market Risk and Business Banking, supplying some of the input to build lasting client wealth.

Responsibilities

  • Structure and approve credit facilities for MNM & FSO clients with FX and Equity OTC and ETF trading activity.
  • Partner closely with Relationship Managers and product specialists to facilitate client business while maintaining sound risk standards.
  • Monitor trading counterparties' credit exposure and manage trading arrangements for sophisticated client portfolios.
  • Manage margin defaults, limit increases and limit changes.
  • Provide expert advice on risk models related credit risk needs.
  • Support expansion of OTC and Equity OTC products in both bilateral transactions and position monitoring services.
  • Participate in strategy initiatives involving margining systems, collateral management and risk models.
  • Support on supernumerary desk as a subject matter expert by taking special orders (in capital/risk management, reporting on credit funds trends).
  • Build trusted connections with front office traders, legal departments and key partners.
  • Support transaction executions through close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Work with legal and external counsel on specialized credit instruments and contracts.
  • Communicate risk recommendations clearly and effectively.
  • Contribute to projects focused on risk monitoring, infrastructure and process enhancements.
  • Support automation and data optimization within the monitoring and reporting functions.
  • Engage with internal audit teams regularly.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive risk and ensure regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours including (but not limited to) standards on honesty, integrity, fair use and diligence, for sharing limited personal data; management of dealing of interest, compliance and continuous development; adequate market integrity and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Experience in credit risk / a training, support role in market derivatives.
  • Strong analytical skills and risk judgement.
  • University degree in a relevant discipline.
  • At least 5 years in markets dealing activities.
  • ATM and ETF Equity derivatives.
  • Understanding of margining, collateral management and trading.
  • Strong structured derivatives products and risk, regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across functional trading to credit units covering large trading client portfolios.
  • Knowledge for credit model, data systems and trading platforms such as Mnemonic, MarketFactory, Bloomberg, SDC and Capital would be advantageous.
