Data Officer – Business Application Support

Mission

Your mission is to oversee, enhance, and operationalize the management, protection, and usage of data across EFG's Business Application Support domains, ensuring consistent quality, privacy, and compliance standards for international operations, with a strong focus on business applications and user service.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a key interface between business and IT, gathering, analyzing, and formulating business data requirements and translating them into executable technical specifications.
• Translate business demands into clear, reliable, and reusable data solutions to avoid duplication, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies across processes and applications.
• Support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to deliver reliable, consistent, and well-documented datasets to business users.
• Contribute to the definition and implementation of data governance policies, data quality controls (including GDPR and other applicable regulations).
• Actively support digital transformation initiatives by enabling trusted, well-structured, and continuously improved data flows within supported applications.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data freshness, integrity, and availability.
• Collect, analyze, and challenge business requirements through structured business analysis.
• Understand business processes and data usage in order to rationalize and translate them into actionable technical specifications documented in a clear and structured way.
• Design and support data architecture, data flows, and process models that ensure traceability.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for reporting, analysis, loading, and validation.
• Write and optimize SQL statements to support data loads, transformations, integrity checks, and performance tuning as needed.
• Monitor, control, and continuously improve data quality, consistency, and integrity metrics.
• Proactively identify potential issues or risks in data pipelines, transformation logic, or access controls and report them to relevant teams, implementing corrective actions where possible.
• Follow established data backup and recovery procedures, ensuring regular backup and disaster recovery plans are tested and maintained to guarantee data availability in case of incidents.
• Contribute to documenting, and refining data governance standards, data models, and technical documentation to maintain clarity, consistency, and long-term maintainability of data solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data protection, privacy, and internal control requirements, in close collaboration with Compliance and IT security teams.
• Provide a high level of service to users, balancing responsiveness to day-to-day requests with a focus on long-term, sustainable data solutions.
• Collaborate closely with IT, Compliance, and business units to support production stability, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data governance, data management, and data quality, or data support in a financial services environment (banking, insurance, asset management, or similar).
• Strong business analysis skills, with the ability to engage business users, challenge requirements, and facilitate structured analysis approaches.
• Solid experience in data extraction, ETL, and processes, and SQL.
• Ability to understand business demands and rationalize and mutualize requirements across teams and regions.
• Strong knowledge of data protection regulations (GDPR, etc.) and industry best practices.
