Job Brief

• Act as a key role in a trading desk environment across three functions –
  • monitoring and maintaining risk and control standards on a
  • keeping up to date with relevant regulatory changes and updates;
  • maintaining client onboarding procedures, including KYC, AML, AML (in
  • being a key stakeholder for applicable regulation (e.g. MiFID II, EMIR, MAR, EMIR, Short Selling)
  • keeping in scope up to date with regulation changes affecting the business
  • analysis and assessing new regulations and briefing senior management accordingly
  • contributing to the ongoing compliance function across business
  • being a stakeholder in regulatory projects, tracking progress and implementation
  • participating in internal and external enquiries including reviews, investigations and the provision of regular and ad hoc training to the business
  • the provision of accurate and timely management information
  • understanding and keeping up to date with the firm's businesses and the markets in which it operates to ensure that appropriate compliance controls are in place
  • performing regular and ad-hoc desk monitoring and reviews

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required

• Knowledge of rules and regulations relevant to a Global Markets business (UK, EU, trading venue, cross border etc.)
• Enhanced knowledge of equity derivatives trading (e.g. T+3, clearing, margin; cross-border etc.)
• Knowledge of FINTRAC and applicable regulations (UK, US etc.)
• An eagerness to learn and a commitment to constant self-improvement
• A pro-active approach to resolving client issues
• Strong organisational skills and an ability to work to short deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in the preparation, analysis, judgement and delivery of work
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and move between tasks quickly
• Commercial awareness and an ability to manage a stakeholder in a complex trading environment
• Ability to communicate with salespeople, desks and relevant partners effectively
• A proven track record of achievement in working to deadlines and delivering best practice
• Proven ability to work with others to achieve the goals of the business
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer literacy and good knowledge of Excel and Word
