Role Overview

• The Head of Operations is a senior leadership position in a global technology services company responsible for defining and overseeing the technology strategy, digital transformation strategy, and delivery involving supporting Northern Trust Asset Management Operations, Platforms and Technology, Risk, Reporting, Finance and lending capabilities.
• This role requires a combination of strategic leadership and operational management and services experience to translate complex enterprise digital transformation strategy, customer expectations, and marketplace trends that drive real results in capabilities, governance business models, technology, integrations, diversity, and scalable, multi-service modes across business functions.
• This position will be responsible for driving customer-centric innovation, operationalizing and translating customer expectations, and bringing leadership, digital services strategy, financial operations strategy in a diverse global talent workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy & Technology Leadership
  • Define and execute multi-year technology strategies, investment priorities, funding decisions, and operating roadmaps aligned with business growth, operational priorities, technology requirements, and end-customers.
  • Lead the modernization and transformation of strategy business platforms supporting online onboarding, reducing operating expenses, expanding reach, segment scaling, and managed account operations.
  • Drive innovation, collaborate, and look for emerging tech trends to develop and expand new partners to improve scalability, reduce costs, cut costs, and extend asset base.
• Executive Leadership & Business Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and partner to senior leaderships, board members, and investment team, offering organizational strategy, technology direction, and initiative success business outcomes.
  • Lead global engineering, architecture, quality, and customer advisory teams.
• Portfolio & Delivery Leadership
  • Provide oversight for end-to-end portfolio of business-critical platforms, products, and transformation initiatives, ensuring performance, financial accountability, proactive delivery, and effective risk management.
  • Drive predictive delivery of strategic initiatives while balancing business priorities, complexity, compliance, external risk signals, talent, and sustainable growth.
  • Manage delivery risks, dependencies, resource allocation, vendor utilization, and investment expectations to deliver expanded financing activities.
• AI, Data & Automation Leadership
  • Champion AI, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies leveraging proprietary tech debt, analytics, predictive, monitoring, and providing critical governance for performance improvement, scaling, operating efficiency client value creation, and complex optimization.
  • Establish new AI capabilities, governance business models, technology integrations, pilots, and scalable adoption enable modern business functions.
  • Position AI as a strategic asset to enhance innovation, trust, scalability, and full-service engagement.
• Architecture, Integration & Engineering Excellence
  • Drive enterprise architecture aligned with service teams, technology, engineering lifecycle management, platform capabilities, delivery strategy, and program management to optimize the overall project execution experience.
  • Assess build/vision/deploy, scale applications, security development patterns, and modern architect approaches helping to improve operating productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Risk, Control & Operational Excellence
  • Ensure compliance with real-time customer risk, regulatory, governance, regulatory, architecture, and security enhancements across the technology portfolio.
  • Drive operational excellence and data ethics value through platform modernization, automation, and continuous improvement cycles to streamline processes and enhance data management.
