Lead, Resilience Engineer

Als Lead Resilience Engineer bei Northern Trust in Pune sind Sie für die Konzeption, Umsetzung und Verwaltung des Disaster-Recovery-Programms sowie für die Sicherstellung der Business Continuity verantwortlich. Key Responsibilities

  • Disaster Recovery Planning, Design, and execution, including regular exercises to evaluate their impact on business continuity, and response measures.
  • Business Continuity: Identify potential risks and create mitigation plans to minimize the impact on business continuity.
  • Disaster Recovery Testing: Plan, execute, and validate disaster recovery exercises to validate the effectiveness of recovery plans and test recovery readiness at the local and national level.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with IT, security, and related departments to ensure alignment between disaster recovery and security designs.
  • Documentation: Maintain current documentation of disaster recovery processes, procedures, and related operating procedures.
  • Roles and Responsibilities: Develop and provide training to employees on disaster recovery and business continuity practices to enhance preparedness.
  • Tool Management: This applies to all solution activities, strategies, emerging technologies, and cybersecurity projects.

On-Premises & Data Center Resilience

  • Provide DR simulation for on-premises data centers including storage migration (Scale/Out), Scale-Down, Near-Term upgrades, failovers, simulated breaches, failback, performance tuning, and strategic migration.
  • Drive power distribution/ownership strategies where VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and Veeam.

Compliance, Audit & Assessment

  • Maintain 3rd-party compliance with ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, and IT practices and applicable industry regulations (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO27001, etc.).
  • Drive all DR-based exercise planning, documentation, time management, and reporting.
  • Regular audit preparation and self-assessments.
  • Facilitate governance frameworks involving DR, security, risk management, and incident management across a range platforms.

Testing, Auditing & Continuous Improvement

  • Plan and execute full-scale (and tabletop, functional, and full-fault) periodic real production-disruption environments at least twice each year.
  • Track and chart outcomes of each testing, monitor each release for continuous fixes.
  • Implement cross-engineering initiatives and pass the practice to strengthen in-house resilience awareness.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on Disaster Recovery (Business Continuity, etc.) for digital businesses
  • Deep expertise designing and executing DR solutions in at least two major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including commercial/private environments
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Veeam, Azure Site Recovery, VMware (DRaaS), etc.
  • Demonstrated experience building and continuing continuous service recovery, including immediate storage and other recovery readiness.
  • Professional certifications in enterprise DR planning (BCI, DRIE or others) preferred, or proven sector experience.
  • Role context for candidates in industries like Banking, Fintech, Healthcare, Retail and BFSI (financial services).
