Role Description

  • The Business Analytics (TA) Team for the Treasury COO team is based outside and offshore.
  • The BA processes involve regular project updates, support across the organization, planning, and capacity allocation.
  • The unit is responsible for the Treasury operations at Nomura's UK, Finance, Treasury, gathering, analysis, DBA and documentation of the desired outcome, as well as application review and substantiation.
  • The role is related to the TA or Risk team, located in any of the Treasury operations offices and/or Nomura's financial group and/or in offices working with colleagues in London, Tokyo, Singapore, Lloyds, and Frankfurt.

Specific Requirements

  • Lead from a basic data and system changes, use information to facilitate timely data and calculations as part of an ongoing project, preparing, co-ordinating, and controlling data analysis and delivery.
  • Ensure current strategies are established and aligned to the team’s strategy, specifically regarding transparency.
  • Prepare, present and execute relevant plans for agreement in technical data and data governance processes, as well as co-ordinate project management, co-ordination of regulatory monitoring and control (e.g. FCA, SEC, etc.) and regulatory compliance policies and procedures to ensure a high standard of internal controls and adequacy of the data and reports.
  • Perform and execute a comprehensive and detailed data analysis to facilitate timely data and calculations as part of an ongoing project, preparing, co-ordinating, and controlling data analysis and delivery.
  • Administer technical and strategic data analysis, reviewing and facilitating the provision of timely, accurate, and actionable data to support the preparation of a comprehensive analysis and oversight of the risk management policies.
  • Perform scenario data quality exercises to test and identify issues and produce timely reporting, ensuring all data and data quality issues are identified and appropriate corrective action plans are developed.
  • Monitor data quality issues related to the inputs and outputs of the risk systems; this should include reviews of system data inputs and outputs, as well as relevant metrics.
  • Support groups and committees involved in the review of data for agility in monitoring reporting, reporting and delivery of timely, accurate, and actionable data to support the preparation of a comprehensive analysis and oversight of the risk management policies.
  • Lead ongoing investigations into relevant data and policies, including customer and investor complaints, inquiries, and third-party risk assessments, and contribute to the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Manage teams across the bank.

Title, Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge Required

  • Liquidity experience gained as a business analyst performing operations for risk data and system changes; and investigation management.
  • Knowledge of UK State/ US of SEC/FINRA Liquidity reporting rules (LPI, OLP, etc.), ALCFA, ADEM, FIRM, ACMA, FINMA, or similar.
  • Familiarity with J-TAB Board & FASIA-LDFM (Liquidity reporting, risk management, and internal capital markets).
  • Investment banking products knowledge (specifically: Securitization / Emerging Securities / Derivatives) including how to build and control complex trades, and an understanding of the impact on balance sheets.
  • Ability to conduct task risk assessments and adjust risk parameters and controls.
  • Ability to understand and meet the aims, objectives and requirements and report appropriately.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good time management and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with both short term (e.g. daily) and medium- and long-term planning.
  • Proven track record in achieving performance targets in a demanding environment.
  • Good IT literacy, with a keen eye to details; attention to professional communication.
  • Experience in dealing with different stakeholders and teams across the organization.
  • Familiar with internal working practices and data management procedures.
