Role Overview
- Join Nomura Financial Products Europe (NFPE) as Vice President - Liquidity Manager, a pivotal role making a significant impact across our €200bn European liquidity balance sheet.
- Based in Frankfurt, you will serve as the primary regulatory interface for NFPE liquidity matters, reporting directly to the Head of Liquidity Management and working in close partnership with our London Desk.
- This VP-level position offers a unique combination of strategic influence and operational accountability.
- As Liquidity Manager, you will advise business units and senior stakeholders on liquidity implications of strategic initiatives and M&A.
- You will also drive submission ability for regulatory liquidity reporting to the Bundesbank and play an active role in discussions with external and internal stakeholders.
- Your role will position you at the intersection of Japanese, European, and global regulatory liquidity management challenges unique to internationally active banking groups.
- You will shape liquidity strategy and collaborate with senior executives, regulatory agencies, and regional leadership.
- As this is a newly established role, you will have a high degree of ownership of the liquidity strategy function within European coverage and will work closely with senior market-facing stakeholders and partners in an ongoing effort to take ownership of critical business decisions.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Governance:
- Own and continuously enhance NFPE's liquidity management governance framework, driving ongoing efficiency to strengthen robustness of Finance processes.
- Act as designated representative for the Head of Liquidity Management on liquidity matters, overseeing regulatory compliance matters.
- Advise senior management and business units on liquidity implications of strategic initiatives, business, and M&A, including day-to-day operations.
- Monitor evolving EU and German regulatory landscape (CRP/CRR/CRD, progressively assess impact in support of necessary process adaptations).
- Regulatory Accountability & Reporting:
- Hold direct submission authority for regulatory liquidity reporting to Bundesbank/ECB, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate and perform review of regulatory liquidity reporting submissions (LCR, ALM, NSFR, etc.) in support of completeness and timely submission.
- Prepare presentations and materials for senior management and regulatory bodies, clearly articulating regulatory developments.
- Coordinate regulatory engagement and supervisory interactions related to Treasury activities at NFPE.
- Liquidity & Risk Management:
- Execute daily liquidity management across €200bn balance sheet spanning multiple legal entities, ensuring alignment with overarching corporate guidelines.
- Provide strategic liquidity consulting and stress framework for business units, advising on implications of deal structures, acquisitions, divestitures of corporate structure, products and new business.
- Perform treasury operations in NFPE and provide real time liquidity reports to senior management.
- Shape liquidity strategy and collaborate with senior executives, regulatory agencies, and regional leadership.
- Provide strategic liquidity insights to senior stakeholders in conjunction with strategic initiatives, M&A, business review and new bank product structures.
- Present liquidity strategies, risks, and market trends to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Establish positive stakeholder relationships at all levels so that they may collaborate effectively with Finance.
- Foster team spirit, inspire colleagues and establish an open and transparent dialogue across boundaries.
- Provide strategic liquidity insights to senior stakeholders and the Board of Directors.
Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge Required
- Professional Experience:
- 10-15+ years of progressive experience in treasury, liquidity management, or balance sheet management within investment banking, broker-dealer, or global banking organizations.
- Demonstrated track record of strategic influence in liquidity management, with direct exposure to senior leadership and experience presenting to senior management teams in a business setting in either the
