About the role

• Nucleus is the engineering group responsible for building and evolving the core technology platform that powers Leonteq’s investment platform. Our services handle some of the most critical capabilities of our product applications. Our services deliver market data distribution, pricing infrastructure, messaging, scalability, and shared platform services.
• Engineering excellence through modern software design and high-quality engineering practices.

• Collaboration across development, DevOps, Security, Infrastructure, and Program management teams.

What you're doing

• As a Senior Full Stack Engineer with advanced cloud engineering experience, you will join the Nucleus team as a Full-Stack Engineer.
• Design, develop, and maintain highly available distributed services for business-critical applications.
• Contribute to the platform in close collaboration with other engineers, Product Management, Security Engineering, and Infrastructure teams, and to a modern microservices platform running both services on-premises and in Google Cloud.
• Solve challenging engineering problems involving distributed systems, technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Messaging, Caching, Serialization, Protocol Buffers, and Service Mesh.
• Build and run microservices on a modern Kubernetes platform running on both on-premises and in Google Cloud.
• Our platform is in Google Cloud.
• Main language: Java, Scala, Rust, Kotlin
• Operating Platform: Kubernetes, GitOps, Argo CD
• Databases: PostgreSQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB
• Cloud Technologies: Google Cloud Platform, Google Cloud Run, and Google Cloud Storage

What you'll need

• We believe in you:
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, automation, and DevOps practices.
• Ability to architect, design, and develop highly available distributed systems and microservices using Java, Scala, Rust, Kotlin.
• Proficiency with modern, high-performance, and highly available cloud-native infrastructure and services, including Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Service Mesh.
• Familiarity with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience leading distributed systems, including Apache Kafka and Service Mesh.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
