Specific Responsibilities

• Developing a close working relationship with key stakeholders across key divisional / business sectors
• Taking ownership of and/or providing direct oversight of the delivery of key Operational Risk management requirements as appropriate
• Developing business relationships through regular meeting with key stakeholders; Ensuring strong understanding of key business requirements and tailored processes within the Business reporting required
• Development and maintaining of Operational Risk (Business Assurance) reporting
• Using internal and external data sources to identify risk trends, issues or developing business relationships through regular meetings and other insights requiring further investigation and resolution
• Following appropriate practices to manage the review of Risk Events in KRIs / Control Effectiveness Testing and issues, follow up with stakeholders as appropriate
• Overseeing the Planning of Risk Assessments and Post Event Appraisals
• Following up operational controls and observations to the 1st line stakeholders as appropriate

Key Objectives Critical to Success

• Primary ORM lead for the senior stakeholders in 1LoD
• Providing independent expert advice to the business areas on operational risk
• Development, disseminating communications and training the business on identifying and recording process risk (RCSAs, KRIs, risk assessments), ensuring operational risk awareness, and embedding the risk process within the business
• Tracking and analyzing internal and external data to provide new insights and formulate recommendations for senior management action
• Observing and challenging operational risk embeddedness
