PBS - Business Support

Für die Position PBS - Business Support in Hong Kong suchen wir einen erfahrenen Fachmann mit 8-12 Jahren Erfahrung im Private Banking, der die operative Compliance, Risikosteuerung und Prozessoptimierung leitet. Der Kandidat fungiert als zentrale Schnittstelle für regulatorische Angelegenheiten, Audit-Management und strategische Projekte in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem PB-Management und den Marktgruppen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee an effective, risk-controlled and regulatory-compliant operating environment for the Private Banking (“PB”) function based in HK, acting as a key partner to PB management and Market Group Heads.
  • Drive and sponsor branch-wide initiatives and PB-related strategic projects covering regulatory alignment, processes and procedures, staff advisory and training, and ensure effective governance, quality and alignment with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Act as central coordination and escalation point for complex issues, such as regulatory changes, client grievances, incidents, risks and compliance matters, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead data-driven analysis and management reporting, including getting progress on key deliverables and strategic initiatives.
  • Own and coordinate PB responses to audits and operational risk matters; ensure robust remediation plans and appropriate PB representation in Risk and Compliance governance committees.
  • Oversees onboarding and training frameworks for PB and client-facing departments, ensuring consistency, quality and alignment with regulatory and internal standards; steer system and process changes where required.
  • In charge of selling suitability check processes in the front office; identify system and process changes where required.
  • Lead and manage ad hoc projects/initiatives and other duties as assigned by the PB COO, ensuring effective project governance, stakeholder engagement and delivery to agreed timelines.
  • Represent the front office in working groups and forums to promote change, including proactive identification of emerging risks.
  • Partner with Business Risk Management to continuously strengthen and embed a strong risk culture and sound conduct across PB, including the effectiveness and efficiency of the First Line of Defense.
  • Demonstrate exemplary conduct and role-model the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct, setting clear expectations and standards for the wider team.
  • Foster collaboration and innovation, providing guidance and informal leadership to team members and contributing to talent development within PB COO Business Support.

Skills and experience

  • Degree holder with 8-12 years of experience in a Private banking environment, including exposure to risk, control or COO/Business Management functions.
  • Strong and broad understanding of banking processes, products and services, and the ability to structure complex topics and present clear recommendations to management.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to structure complex topics and drive to resolution. (VBA/coding skills may be a plus but are not essential.)
  • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with data analytics tools is an advantage.
  • Highly self-motivated, organised and resilient, able to operate under pressure; able to structure and drive business cases forward, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Strategic and innovative mindset, able to challenge the status quo, identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency, and drive implementation through to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and locations.
