Principal, Enterprise Arch

Position Overview

The Principal Enterprise Arch is responsible for defining and architecting for the federal government/ enterprise domain.

The candidate will be a key leader of the Federal Governance and Enterprise Architecture team collaborating responsibility in multiple areas including: Enterprise strategy, enterprise modeling, digital platform strategy, reference architecture, enterprise intelligence (Data), Master Data Management, Data Fabric/Federation, interoperability, Architecture Management, IoT, Service Mesh, open architecture, and cloud data architecture.

Definition of all layers (conceptual/organizational and technical) such as data platform and communication architecture, enterprise strategy, cloud on strategy landscape, platform strategy, functional design, data security, and the business Model: Demonstrate a picture overall of project and team and technology approach across the business objectives of an ongoing project operation. Ensure site business strategic, market trends, technology trends, and business operational requirements are leveraged to achieve requirements, results, outcomes, models, and budget goals. Work proactively with the project manager to define and reach these goals and objectives. Direct initiatives such as system service architecture, database structure analysis, govern the project portfolio, and partner with business partners who are engaged in the project to plan, deliver, report, and adapt to change.

The individual must be an industry-wide architectural excellence and has the experience to design both business, technology, data, security, and experience applications. Must also be an agile thinking, data-driven and culture support approach for federal business roles, engineering models, overall, security, registry, requirements, service level, service quality, database and infrastructure. Proficiency in and experience with architecture, digital platform, reference architecture, enterprise intelligence (Data Fabric, data integration) data management, open architecture, and cloud data architecture, service design, and management, with an understanding and development of well-structured architectures for business intelligence, data discovery, data analytics, and data visualization in parallel, are all extremely important. Continuous deep dive (broadly) and patterns, Architecture analysis, and platform engineering is needed, being able to present and drive these to multiple teams on well-thought-out solutions and services level (SLAs), etc., should be a considered plus. Must be able to work independently to build out management solutions, and work under/with multiple clients' and sub-clients' information and business projects.

Knowledge / Skills

• Proven of current trends in software engineering experience using modern application development frameworks such as UI engineering, microservices, CI/CD, and automated testing, and engineering of next generation solutions
• Strong initiative across broad enterprise architecture areas, including enterprise planning, capability modeling, layer data architecture, and re-engineering enterprise IT best practices
• Years of experience in building and enabling software architecture, platform design (Azure, AWS, GCP), and/or cloud-native solution design and deployment.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present architectural plans and other software and project architectural decisions.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience managing a relationship network externally, including government, agencies, or clients, to manage risk, resolve issues, and drive execution of project and service outcomes.
• Team knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman, with the ability to map frameworks appropriately across business, technology, data, intelligence, security, cloud, and all application domains.
• Experience in iOS, Web, Linux, full platform, enterprise data, security strategy and governance on Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Service Mesh, open architecture, and cloud data architecture.
• Knowledge of Azure Information Management methodologies and tools such as Agile, business management planning, software architecture, and infrastructure requirements including hybrid on-premises, multi-node environments, PaaS, containers, and serverless.

Major Duties

• Define comprehensive enterprise strategies and target state enterprise, data, security, and business needs while specifying methods, technology, that must be done to realize the desired state.
• Model application processes for the selected project or portfolio, and analyze optimization opportunities for process improvements.
• Lead a team enterprise architects in the design and development of software and technology standards, enabling integration, business intelligence, end-to-end process information, and digital experience, including web, mobile, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and intelligent systems, analytics.
• Create and present a framework for managing architectural activities that allows for innovation and continuous improvements, including a standardized approach to technology adoption and adoption.
