Risk & Performance Analyst

About the role

• You will be managing the Risk & Performance Analytics desk which entails investment knowledge, the key function of desk's team is to support for investment management, deals and blending solutions clients with requests to enable them to understand and access to their portfolio results.
• Strong communication ability is required for as you will be reporting directly to senior leaders and interacting with investors, advisors and external consultants.
• You will also be expected to provide Methodological support for the Global Mandate Platform to support them, will collaborate on ad hoc assignments, wider departmental responsibilities and support our data governance and internal reporting skills.

Overarching Responsibilities

• Using technology solutions (Python, AI, SQL, Lists, Excel, Tableau), to automate existing risk reporting for securities units that trades derivatives and various other investment instruments.
• Developing quantitative models for different investment product offerings i.e. absolute return, credit and illiquid, Enhanced returns.
• Implementing new systems for client external and internal reporting.
• Assisting with redesigns, changes of how our investment is available and their views with data science.
• Conducting proactive model testing to assess appropriate risks models.
• Building robust dashboards to manage internal and regulatory reporting needs, focusing heavily towards preparing for each activity.
• Creating KPI's for clients based on their strategic vision using investment expertise technical knowledge associated with this, and drive the use of analytical solutions across Man Group and Pilgrim.
• Use different reporting styles for internal stakeholders within the firm.
• Perform a business benefit out of the current reconciliation within reporting packages.

Prerequisites criteria

• Demonstrable background working across sectors such as Financial Services and Real Estate of experience in report editing/extending existing design and capabilities.
• Experience with data visualisation tools like Tableau to create further enhance data visualisation.
• Development tools like PowerBI Python, SQL and similar tools for data extraction, joining and analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and numerical skills, with an interest in working with large and complex datasets of data.
• Detail orientated with strong problem-solving capabilities to identify issues, assess data quality and identify risks.
• Written and verbal communication are highly sought.
• Is comfortable working autonomously and actively involved to collaborate effectively with business teams Collaborate closely with cross functional to understand business needs and relevant asset class analysis.
• Thorough understanding of mathematics skills.
• High degree of organisation, ability to work under pressure and tight deadline.
• Experience with Global Mandate Platform (GMP), XIRR’s similarities in working towards an Asset Management Environment.

• The team encompasses many portfolios like in commodities, derivative strategies, and multi manager solutions like absolute return, total return credit and enhance returns.
• Expectations of this team are to support risk and reporting team with an excellent track record of automation using like python packages like NumPy and pandas which allow analysts and scientists to focus on their core competencies.
