Senior Analyst, Regulatory Reporting and Financial Accounting

Purpose of the role
- This site is embedded to the London Financial Accounting team with senior responsibilities for the preparation and review and monitoring of specific projects that contribute to supporting the regulatory reporting and statutory process for the Group.
- The London Financial Accounting team is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records for the Group’s UK based operations and group-wide reporting. The team works closely with accounts payable and accounts receivable. They also prepare and submit regulatory and other monthly or ad-hoc reports including the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).
- This is a Hybrid role based in the London office, with significant travel to other locations. There will be no office space provided within an individual’s apartment or office. Due to the complex nature of the role and remote working arrangements, we require employees to be based within a local office or to work from home. Those who are happy to travel the office will need to be able to provide their own transport to this location and we expect them to be available for all business travel as required by the organisation. The role holder will also need to be available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm local time, with some flexibility for any later meetings. The role holder will be based in the London office with the opportunity to work from home at their discretion. We support working from home and have a range of flexible working arrangements to suit individual circumstances. Please note that we will not be able to offer paid travel expenses to those working from home.
Specific responsibilities
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory accounting activity for the Group’s regulated UK entities, in addition to preparing profit centres and ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
- Prepare and present updates on regulatory reporting and internal risk on finance planning to new managers internally, emailing other contactors to list records and share information.
- Monitor regulatory compliance across the Group globally and ensure that they are adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
- Perform monthly financial accounting activities for an entity within the individual’s area of responsibility, verifying and checking data and recording data in external submissions and balances and maintaining accurate and timely general ledger and accounts to enable an adjustment and balance sheet reconciliations are complete. Prepare and support the preparation of tax returns of relevant entities.
- Prepare and submit reports on financial and non-financial reporting to be presented to reporting authorities and auditors.
- Liaise with external auditors and suppliers, supporting the provision of information with respect to company affairs such as:
- Implement effective controls and controls with Finance teams across the business (including UAS and Financial Accounting, Taxation, The Group) to ensure effective tax reporting and processing
- Preparation and presentation of management information to external parties, including new policies, including VAT and UK GAAP accounts preparation. Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, analytical review and root cause tracking is advantageous
- Providing clear and concise guidance to junior members of the team.
- Contributing to wider Financial Control and Reporting policy and developing new solutions.
Key competencies
- Accounting (ACCA/ACCA/CPA qualification)
- Experience:
- Proven experience in regulatory reporting within financial services. Strong interest knowledge of financial and technical reporting, including experience on UK GAAP statutory reporting. Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, analytical review and root cause tracking is advantageous
- IT Skills:
- Advanced Excel skills and strong experience with financial systems. Experience with financial accounting systems is desirable. A willingness to learn and use new tools and technologies – including AI – to improve the quality and efficiency of work is helpful.
