Job Description
As a Senior Associate, Cloud Security Engineer at Northern Trust, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure for our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our cloud environments are protected against threats and vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud security architectures for AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms
- Develop and maintain security policies and procedures for cloud environments
- Implement and monitor cloud security tools and technologies
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into application design
- Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud environments
- Respond to and investigate security incidents and breaches
- Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud security trends and technologies
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of new security solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud security engineering or related roles
- Proficiency with AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms
- Experience with cloud security tools such as AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, or Google Cloud Security Command Center
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and practices
