Senior Java Developer (Distributed Financial Systems)
Julius Baer sucht in Zürich einen Senior Java Developer für die Entwicklung verteilter Finanzsysteme mit Fokus auf Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture und Cloud-Native Technologien. Es handelt sich um ein 12-monatiges Vertragsverhältnis mit sofortigem Start und möglicher Verlängerung.
Job Title
- Senior Java Developer (Distributed Financial Systems) - Zurich - 80 - 100% (f/m/d)
- Contract through our external payroll partner with immediate start for 12 months with possible extension
Tasks
- Apply microservice systems principles (e.g. consistency models, idempotency, resiliency patterns) to real-world financial workloads
- Optimise end-to-end latency, asynchronous processing, and efficient IO
- Develop and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through profiling, benchmarking, and load testing while ensuring strictness, data integrity, compliance, and operational resilience
- Integrate complex financial platforms and third-party services, ensuring correctness, performance, security, and regulatory compliance
- Design reliable messaging and integration flows using JPA, JDBC templates, JMS, and event-driven architectures
- Adhere to enterprise standards (e.g. OWASP guidelines and industry frameworks) while adhering to financial-grade principles
- Quality and Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using industry best practices, including code reviews, testing, and CI/CD
- Apply financial-grade engineering principles (auditability, security, controlled change)
- Collaborate: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and deliverables
Requirements
- Languages & Platforms: Java (Core Java), Core Java, Collections, JSON, JDBC, Spring framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC
- Architecture: Distributed systems, microservices, event-driven design, low-latency systems
- Databases & Messaging: JPA, JDBC, relational databases, JMS
- Operating Systems: Unix/Linux, bash scripting
- Security: OAuth2, API security, IAM concepts
- Strong code review practices and pride in code quality
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of microservice architecture and containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Previous experience in the financial industry is a plus
- Willingness to collaborate in a global team with members in Zurich and Singapore.
