Senior Java Engineer

Role Responsibilities

• As a Senior Java Engineer on the Manex team, you will be building and maintaining tools to orchestrate Enterprise Exchange and process data efficiently, as part of a team. This is a hands-on full-stack role.
• Your work will include data flowing strategy with the ability to support our Java engineers in defining and enforcing system designs, and to maintain or develop new Management System Client libraries, infra, and environment in which these clients run (Istio & Service Mesh).
• You are expected to have an interest in microservices, build pipelines, and code reviews and mentoring for junior colleagues.
• This role is within our Manex Platform Engineering group, which builds a suite of products to manage the flow of trade data; sources coming from both MEX markets, while working closely with customers to know their intended use case.
• This role is a balance part and Kube team - you will be 60% to the new Manex API product roadmap, Agile, self-driven delivery, and remaining 40% with to keep the current platform services that we are delivering support resources and services as our clients' Java developers software with well-tested Java Services.

Our Technology

• Our customer is a Java application with our internal system that runs on Go.
• Platform's consist of X of Java as most standard use cases & a suite of a number of microservices that are hosted internally & on client environments.
• We use Apache Camel to transmit & receive data between microservices to other systems.
• To read the most current state, we use SQL microservices, frameworks to schedule and sync the pipeline, plus Kafka.
• We use Java Streams, Kafka, Hashicorp Vault, Akamai API Gateway, the Spring Boot framework, JUnit for unit tests, and Terraform for infrastructure.
• We build our test suites using Spring and Java.
• We are fans of open source, and welcome to Github & our own Forge Jira instances - where our code lives - or to conduct interactive sessions for us to see at our offices.

Required

• 5+ years of experience with Microservices architectures and Stratus (Spring Boot/Mulesoft, etc.)
• 5+ years of experience with Java development on an applied production level (including Object-Oriented, Enterprise, Standard JEE, Spring 3/4, etc.).
• Ability to create and maintain APIs
• Focusing Java/Java-based application
• Holding Java Tier-1 or J2SC or equivalent
• Linux/Unix & Solaris - knowledge of these platforms
• Java: JVM, JDBC, multi-threading, concurrency, collections
• Web Services - especially JSON and XML

Nice to Have

• Experience in functional programming - willingness to learn and to write - a practical development tool as part of the Java practice
