Main Duties and Responsibilities

• A Team Leader for Trade Support, with staff based in the UK and outsourced roles servicing other business locations. Reporting to the Head of Nomura UC Global Asset Services, this role is responsible for managing daily trade support operations across multiple asset classes while maintaining strong operational controls and providing effective team leadership and oversight to a diverse team supporting trading operations.
• The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated team player with previous experience in a similar role.
• The candidate must be able to prioritise individual and team work loads and deliver high quality, accurate work to meet standards required by internal and external parties.
• Lead, and develop a team of trade support professionals, fostering collaborative and constructive feedback, and identify training and development opportunities.
• Oversight of daily confirmation and instruction processing for all Equity and OTC Derivatives products. Being first point of escalation to follow up on trades that have not been allocated and confirmed.
• Confirmation and instruction of all OTC derivatives, including Credit Default Swaps, Credit Default Swap Options, Interest rate swaps & FX options.
• Overseeing the confirmation of all FX trades executed by NAMUK Trading desk, to ensure trades are booked correctly, reviewing and identifying any trades that fall outside exceptions. Processing of fixing rates for NDF trades and confirming trade details.
• Ensuring that all Money Market trades (CDs, CDs, MTNs and FRNs) executed by the NAMUK Fiat Money desk are confirmed with counterparties in a timely manner. Processing of daily call or notification to custodians.
• Provision of daily cash flow forecasts to brokers and counterparties, ensuring that all cash balances are monitored and kept in line with trading strategies, to ensure insufficient funds are not outstanding. Providing support to the settlement team in Powai, assisting to raise queries with custodians to ensure daily cash statements have been received. Processing of daily calls or notifications to brokers and custodians to ensure trades are booked correctly. Monitoring pledged shares held on our behalf and ensuring any issues, instructions or disputes are resolved in a timely manner.
• Keeping up to date with regulatory changes (MiFID / EU MIFID), maintaining and updating procedures accordingly.
• Ensuring existing procedures are kept up-to-date with changing processes and evolving business requirements.

Skills & Experience

• Previously held responsibility and experience for trades in similar markets and asset classes.
• Knowledge of derivatives instruments, including OTC derivatives (credit default swaps, swaptions, interest rate swaptions, and other OTC products).
• Good understanding of the front to back processes of equity and fixed income trading, including confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Experience of working within a global environment, supporting multiple time zones and locations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal to communicate with internal and external parties.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to quickly understand new systems, both in-house and market-supported.
• Collateral Management experience would be extremely desirable.
